First, I hope I'm in the right forum. I'm not a developer (since we merged with the CUNY's main IT shop they won't even let me create agents), just a humble user. If this isn't the right place, someone please tell me to buzz off but also please tell me where to buzz off to. 10q.
On Notes 7, I used the file->save window state feature so that Notes would always launch with a few windows open that I usually need in the morning open (e.g., the e-mail message that tells everyone that the coffee is ready). http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21256781 implies (but doesn't state clearly) that this feature doesn't exist in 8. Save window state on exit doesn't help because what I end up with at the end of the day isn't what I want to start with the next day.
"More Bookmarks" has a folder named "last state" that must have been copied forward from Notes 7, but it's not used. When I try to add stuff to startup, "add to startup" and "paste" are greyed out. (Aside: there oughta be a law that you can right-click on any greyed-out menu item to get an explanation of why it's greyed out.)
How can I get Notes to launch with my "coffee's ready" message (and a few other things) open each morning?
